Life Lately | March 2015

It’s been a while since I did a life lately post here so I thought I’d catch you all up on what’s been going on lately! If you follow me on Snapchat, you’ve likely already seen a bunch of these photos. If you don’t follow me on Snapchat, get with the times and check it out! My Snapchat username is courtxoxo24!

After three years of waiting for him to come back in concert, I got to go to the Mat Kearney concert downtown earlier this month. Mat Kearney is my absolute favorite artist of all time so seeing him perform live again was AMAZING!!
We welcomed a new nephew into our family, Grayson! He is the cutest, calmest baby ever and we were able to see him get blessed in church a few weeks ago.
After living downtown for FOREVER, I FINALLY got a Salt Lake library card. Bring on the books!!
Starbucks Birthday Cake Frappuccino…. Perfection! Loved the pink whipped cream on top!
Behold… the Tonight Dough ice cream. If I didn’t already love Jimmy Fallon, I definitely do now.
Having dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, Bruges Waffles & Frites! Their machine gun sandwich and raspberry vanilla waffles are amazing.
So basically my life revolves around food because thats pretty much all thats on here! Haha least I'm honest right? I'll be posting some vacation photos next week of NYC & San Fran too so stay tuned for that! Thanks again for reading!

Book of the Month: The Hobbit

One of my New Years Resolutions is to continue reading more books, more specifically… reading a new book every month!  To help me stick to my goal, I’ll be documenting my monthly book here on the blog with a new series called.“Book of the Month”. Creative name right?  I may come up with something else to call it but for now, that's what it is. Haha I've already read three books this year and I'm a little behind on posting my blog reviews so there will be a few coming up over the next few weeks.

I’m obsessed with the Lord of the Ring & Hobbit Movies. The way Peter Jackson portrays Middle Earth is amazing and I love the casting they chose for all of the movies. I received “The Hobbit” as a present for Christmas from my husband and having already seen all of the movies; it was interesting to see how the movie differed, in small ways, from the book.

I thought this was a great, easy read and I enjoyed seeing J.R.R. Tolkien’s writing style. His writing feels as if you are having a friend tell you an exciting story and I liked seeing his British accent/personality come out in various sayings throughout the book. If you follow me on Instagram (@courtxoxo24) then you already know what book I've read next... stay tuned for the next book!

Celebrating Waffle Day

I’ve got an obsession with waffles, espcially Belgian waffles so naturally I couldn’t pass up celebrating International Waffle Day today! On both of our recent vacations we got to try some amazing waffle places:
Sear’s Restaurant in San Fran had these amazing waffles topped with whipped cream and strawberries.
In NYC we tried the Waffles & Dinges food carts located throughout the city and had Belgian waffles topped with chocolate and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I literally died and went to waffle heaven!
The best thing about waffles is that you can choose to make them more “healthy” with fruit toppings or you can turn them into a unique dessert covered in chocolate or nutella! See the photo below and my Pinterest board HEALTHY RECIPES for more yummy waffle topping ideas for your next breakfast or family party! Eat up my friends!

Yes I Shop on Ebay..

I know you're thinking it so I'll just come out and state the obvious....This blanket scarf has been worn hundreds of times across the blogger world so I'm sure you're super sick of it BUT this is one of my go-to outfits especially for when we are going out downtown and it's a little cooler. These knee high boots from F21 are super comfy and I just like the way they add something different to an outfit. Oh and this purse I'm wearing? $9 on Ebay. And the blanket scarf? $10 on Ebay too. It's all about the bargain shopping :)

Pretty in Pink

Well, Happy First Day of Spring!! I know it's been a while since I last posted here on the blog but I'm going to do a better job of updating this thing! Lately I haven't felt that creative and I'm trying to get back in the groove of things. We've taken a few vacations lately... so I'll be posting more about those soon! The weather this year in Utah has been an interesting one and it's finally starting to feel like Spring! I've worn this sweater dress from Lauren Conrad's clothing line so many times lately and I love the grey marled color! It literally goes with everything. And this pink coat from H&M? Love it.
