Comfortable Flats for Spring

Flats for Spring
1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8

As much as I love a good pair of heels, most days they’re definitely not my shoe of choice.  My husband and I live in the heart of downtown so we are constantly walking to work, out to dinner, or to the local grocery store for a quick errand. Flats are my go-to shoe, especially with the weather getting warmer.  It’s really important that my flats are comfy since they’re something I’m wearing pretty much 24/7 around this time of year. I’ve put together my top comfy flat choices for Spring 2014!

Neutrals
2 & 3 || I love the neutral shoe trend as of late because it instantly looks chic and makes your legs look super tan too!
Bright Colors
1, 4, 5 & 7 || Bright colors are always a good go-to when it comes to spring shoes because it can give any outfit an extra bit of glam! They are a fun way to put an extra pep in your step and I like the variety they have these days! I love the bright colors like red and blue and of course I had a throw a little orange in their too…. Perfect color for the warmer weather!
Glitter & Prints
6 & 7 || Gold will always have a special place in my wardrobe and it’s a color I plan to have on repeat through spring and summer this year. I also am starting to get into the different prints such as Dalmatian, leopard, and cheetah! They are unique but definitely worth the risk!

Which one of these shoe choices is your favorite? Oh and did I mention these are all on sale at great low prices? Check out the links above to see for yourself!

30 x 30 Outfit Challenge: Outfits 20-25

Giving you an update on this month’s 30 x 30 Outfit Remix Challenge. I’m more than half-way done and I’m starting to get anxious to wear some of my new spring clothes! I’ve always wanted to try out the 30 x 30 Challenge and I’m happy this is something I finally can say I’ve done! To learn more about the challenge and to see the 30 items I chose, click this link {here}! Below are my feelings on the challenge this past week… oh and don’t forget to see outfits 1-12 see {here} and outfits 13-19 {here}
Easiest Thing About The Challenge:
Hm… right now I can’t think of anything, except for the fact that I only have a few more days left!
Hardest Thing About The Challenge:
I’m starting to feel redundant with my outfits. I’m getting a little bored of the same choices and realized this is definitely not something I could do all the time!!
Fashion Lesson I’ve Learned so Far:
Accessories can really make an outfit! Many outfits really are pretty simple, but if you add a fun, bold jewelry it can completely change your outfit.
Love it or Hate it:
Yeah I think I’m pretty much over it. I’ve only got a few days left so I’m trying to hold out strong but man this challenge has definitely gotten harder the longer it’s gone on.

Is the 30 x 30 Challenge something you think you'd ever participate in? Let me know in the comments below! Thank you for stopping by and supporting me on this blog!

Spring Pastels

Spring Pastels

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8
Pastel is one of my favorite trends during spring and you better believe I’m going to be wearing pastels all summer long too! Pastels go great with any skin color and they’re perfect to add a little feminine touch to your wardrobe. There are a variety of pastel colors to choose from so it usually makes shopping for them pretty hard for me! I usually gravitate towards the minty/aqua colors and the light pink/colors but there are a lot of options out there! Here are some affordable finds from one of my sponsors, Persunmall. They have a great selection of clothing, shoes and other accessories. I am dying over the multi-colored sunnies and the deer tshirt here... AMAZING! No matter your personal style, you’ll find something you love on Persunmall!  What’s your favorite trend for Spring 2014? Will you be trying out the pastel trend? Comment below and let me know!

Red Lips & Trench Coats

Our year and a half wedding anniversary is coming up and it’s crazy to sit back and see how quickly the time has gone. I am soaking up every minute of married life with just us too because I know once there’s a baby in the picture things won’t ever be the same. I’ve realized the importance of date night in a relationship and how great it is just to sit down and relax with each other while doing something fun. As it starts to get warmer, I can’t wait to go on more date nights! It’s honestly one of my favorite things to just sit outside, on a restaurant patio downtown and enjoy each other’s company.  Here in Utah it’s not quite warm enough yet to not wear a jacket so it’s good to have transition pieces, like this lightweight trench coat. I love the light pink color and the belt that accentuates the waist!  I also love this lip print blouse from Persunmall that’s a fun, feminine piece to wear out on the town.
What’s your favorite thing to do for Date night?

DIY iPhone Case

Happy First Day of Spring! I'll have some fun spring outfits coming soon, but as for now...let’s talk about your Phone. You likely sleep with it right next to your bed. You check it probably every 15 minutes and use it throughout the majority of your day. Sound about right? For something that you carry around and use all day, you should really like the way it looks. I’m super picky about my phone covers because I’m constantly in a new mood. Whether that’s wanting animal print, glitter, or just a solid color, I definitely don’t have the money to buy a new phone case every time I get sick of the old one. That's why this DIY iPhone Case is a perfect solution for all you out there who can relate!

SUPPLIES:
Clear Phone Case ( I got mine on Amazon for $1! See lots of options here and here)
Printer
Scissors
STEPS:
Step 1: Find a print that you like, whether that’s off Pinterest, Google, or maybe even something you’ve sketched. Print this off on your computer in a 4x6 Print. ** You may need a bigger size depending on the size of your phone. A 4 x 6 is ideal for iPhone 4/4s as that is what I currently have.
Step 2: Trace the clear phone case with pencil on the back of your printed artwork. Make sure you trace the correct way so when you put the print into your phone case, it faces outward. ** I had to preface this because I have made this mistake before, it’s really annoying!
Step 3: Follow your trace marks and cut out the print so it fits inside of your phone case. You will need to also cut out a hole for the camera.
Step 4: Wah-LA! Easy as that. Show off your iPhone case and Enjoy! Replace it with a new print as often as you’d like!

Above are some of the many case backgrounds I have. I usually find inspiration for my phone covers on Pinterest! Check out my Quotes board below for some fun prints you can use as your next iPhone background! And to all you non-iPhone users out there--I'm sure this tutorial can work for any type of phone as long as you have a clear case to go on it. Hope this was helpful; thanks for reading!

30 x 30 Outfit Challenge: Outfits 13-19

If you haven’t already seen here on the blog, this month I’m participating in the 30 x 30 Outfit Remix Challenge! This Outfit challenge was created by Kendi Everyday and it’s something I’ve always wanted to try out. I’m already on week three and it’s been getting harder to stick to my original 30 items.( see what I chose here!) With spring here and some awesome recent purchases, I’m struggling with the challenge sorta! Below are my feelings on the challenge this past week… don’t forget to scroll to the bottom to see all my outfit choices! See my responses and outfits 1-12 see here.

Easiest Thing About The Challenge:
Still it’s really just the fact that I don’t have as many clothes to choose from in the morning when I’m trying to decide what the heck to wear to work!
Hardest Thing About The Challenge:
Shopping. There have been so many good sales lately and I want to wear all of my new clothing so so bad!
Fashion Lesson I’ve Learned so Far:
Less is MORE! It is important to have key pieces that can be versatile in your closet.
Love it or Hate it:
Even though I’ve got a bunch of outfits still in mind, I’m starting to get sort of bored with it! I did have to break the challenge for a fashion show event I attended at The Gap this past weekend (oops!) but other than that I’m still staying on course!

Oh My Chic

So I had one of my first real "grown up" moments this week.
Remember how I haven't had a working car in over two months and I walk basically everywhere? See more on that story here. I finally sold my broken car on Wednesday to some person on KSL (that person ended up being my old neighbor, weirdly enough) and it's so nice to have that issue out of the way. It was sad seeing my first car go bye-bye. I had so many memories in that car from random road trips in college to teaching me what the heck a hydrosolator is. I'd explain it to you but hey, isn't that what Google is for?

I also prepped for an upcoming fashion show at University Mall this weekend. All you Utah readers out there... be sure to come! Stay tuned on Instagram (@unpredictableandchic) for more details on this fun event at The Gap!

The best thing about blogging is meeting other wonderful ladies who love all the same things you do. I was lucky enough to meet Jody from Jody Beth last year and she is one talented lady! Not only does she go to college, work and blog, she's a wifey AND owner of Oh My Chic Etsy Shop! She's got a great variety of infinity scarves, turban headbands and pillow covers available.  This aztec tube infinity scarf fits amazing and is such a comfy fabric. It's a perfect accessory piece to throw on when you're in a hurry and want to achieve that "put-together" look. Enjoy the weekend and stay tuned for some more fun posts next week!

30 x 30 Outfit Challenge: Week 1 & 2

This month I’m participating in the 30 x 30 Outfit Remix Challenge! To learn more about it and see the 30 clothing items I chose, visit here.  Here are my true, unfiltered thoughts on the challenge thus far:

Easiest Thing About The Challenge:
I have less clothes to choose from in the morning so it makes picking an outfit quicker.
Hardest Thing About The Challenge:
I’ll think of a cute outfit, then realize one of the pieces wasn’t one of my 30 x 30 items! I struggle not being able to choose from my ENTIRE close, there are some other clothes I’m dying to wear!
Fashion Lesson I’ve Learned so Far:
Don’t go for the obvious choice. Put together clothing items you wouldn’t normally think of.
Love it or Hate it:
So far, I really like it! I’ve still got a lot of outfit ideas in mind so I feel like this is something I can definitely accomplish. I’ve got some blogging events coming up so I may have to break the challenge for a few hours… ha-ha but I’m trying to stay strong!
Here are my outfit layouts for the past 12 days! Unfortunately I don’t have a photographer/husband combo like Girl Meets Glam & Caraloren so the easiest way to document my outfits is to take photos of them in the morning before I get dressed! Hope you like the outfits so far! Which one is your favorite?

Can't Do Everything

I feel two words.... Worn Out. Taking a break the rest of this week to spend my free time glued to Netflix watching episodes of Once Upon A Time ( I'm obsessed!!), have some relaxation time with my husband and well, just breathe. It's gratifying yet depressing sometimes when you come to the realization you can't do everything. I can't always have a clean house, make healthy meals every single day, clean, work full-time, blog, exercise, be a wife, sister, friend and have a SANE life. There will always be areas of my life that need improvement. And while I like being the person that has their shit together, there are times when it's just too much. I've learned through life how important it is to step back and see what really is a priority. I, along with many women I'm sure, don't like doing things if we can't give 110%. I don't like failing...whether that's disappointing the people I love or just disappointing myself. Also, The blog is getting a face lift today with easier navigation and better design, which I'm thrilled about. I'll be back next week, giving this blog my all and more but until then.... I'll be doing some self-reflection and loosing myself in stories of fairy-tale creatures and Wonderland.
Speaking of which...Any other Once Upon A Time fans out there?

Keeping It Simple

Another month is here and I couldn't be more excited. I've got a lot of fun things planned this month with friends and family AND it's one more month closer to the summer! Today's post is pretty short and sweet, considering I'm still recovering from a bit of a cold I got this weekend. I love this necklace from Armed & Readi. They have such a huge variety of necklaces, earrings and bracelets, you're sure to find something that fits your unique style. I love the pink and purple in this statement necklace and the gold accent is a perfect finishing touch. I'm wearing a shade of lipstick my mom gave me for Christmas. It's taken me a little bit to get use to but I like the darker color. It's definitely out of my comfort zone but I'm always looking for some new trend to try so why not right? Also did you notice these fun multi-colored bracelets? They're Lily and Laura bracelets from 9th & Elm and they're a perfect addition to any arm party this spring. Visit 9th & Elm today to check out more of their great deals!  Did you see my first 30x30 remix challenge outfit on Instagram (@unpredictableandchic) on Saturday? Click HERE to learn more about this outfit challenge and come back to the blog Wednesday when I show you my first week of outfits! Keep scrolling down for more!

The Ivy Movement is a grassroots non-profit organization that exists to eradicate sex trafficking in our neighborhoods. It was co-founded in Boise, Idaho by two women who desire to make a difference in their own community.

Ivy’s has two major focuses:

1. Raising Awareness – sex trafficking happens in the United States, and it happens in the safe, beautiful city of Boise. The myth that it only exists overseas and in big cities is just that – a myth. This myth is keeping the community from helping local victims from slavery into freedom.

2. Providing Short and Long-Term Care for Victims – The Ivy Movement is focused on providing crisis care packages for women and children rescued, short-term housing, and long-term housing and rehabilitation for victims. The Ivy Movement plans to build and operate at least one long-term safe house in the Treasure Valley.

Mission Statement: To engage and equip our community in the fight to end sex trafficking in our neighborhood.

The Ivy Movement believes that each individual person has something valuable to offer and can make a difference with what they have, where they are at. When children are forced into sexual slavery, it should be every single person’s responsibility to do what they can to help rescue them. The Ivy Movement has vision to engage and equip each member of the community so that they are empowered to make a difference in the lives of those who are enslaved.

Our first step is to put together more crisis care packages for victims and to get a short-term safe house in place. We need your help to do this. As a community –near or far – we are asking you to believe in and partner with us to rescue these girls and boys. Together, we can keep sex trafficking off of our streets and out of our backyards. Learn more at www.theivymovement.org.

Today, a team of amazing, successful and generous bloggers have teamed up with us to raise money for this incredible organization.
