30 X 30 OUTFIT CHALLENGE: Outfit Recap & Final Thoughts

As you may know, I participated in the 30 x 30 Outfit Challenge during March so I’m sharing my true final thoughts on the challenge and how I felt it went! To learn more about this fashion challenge and to see the 30 items I chose, click {here}! Below I’ve compiled all 30 outfits for the month but you can visit outfits 1-12 {here}, outfits 13-19 {here} and outfits 20-25 {here} to see my thoughts and lessons I learned each week throughout the challenge!

Easiest Thing About The Challenge Overall:
The easiest thing about the challenge was not having to rummage through my closet every morning trying to figure out what the heck to wear. I separated the 30 pieces I chose for the challenge in my closet so I could easily pick through them and pair items together. It was nice having a limited selection of clothing for a while but it’s definitely something I know I couldn’t do for long periods of time!

Hardest Thing About The Challenge Overall:
Being creative. I had a lot of outfit ideas in mind at the beginning but as the challenge went on, I definitely saw my creativity take a dive. March was a busy month for me and it took some extra effort to remember what clothing I hadn’t worn together yet or which items I was over-using/under-using for the challenge.

Fashion Lessons I Learned Overall:
I think one of the most valuable things I learned from this challenge is the fact that you really can live without a huge closet. There are wardrobe staple pieces that really have so much versatility; it’s just up to you, the wearer, to put them to good use! Often times I think we get so caught up in wearing the latest trend that we forget to focus on the classy, timeless clothing items. I have learned to be more open to re-using pieces in my closet and resist purchasing items just because they are the latest style.

Another lesson I learned is the power of accessories. You could wear the same shirt and bottoms, but with a different pair of shoes, purse, and necklace…. You can completely change the style of your look! I love having a good handbag and statement necklace to tie and outfit together and it wasn’t until this challenge that I really realized how often I rely on those accessories to make my outfit stand out. Also don’t underestimate the power of statement shoes. I wish that I would have picked more “colorful” shoes for this challenge since the majority of them revolved around black, taupe, or brown. While these are definitely staple items, it’s fun to be able to make an outfit stick out with bright reds, blues, and of course… cheetah print!

So… Love it or Hate it? Recommendations?:
Overall I thought the challenge was eye-opening and a good experience. It was fun to take on this challenge but I won’t lie when I say it got pretty hard towards the end! I think any women that loves fashion should at least try out a challenge like this once. It was easier for me to outfit layout photos of that day’s outfit instead of having my picture taken every day. The challenge is meant to be a fun, unique experience so make it your own and do it however you would like!

  1. Completing the challenge is very impressive! There is still a lot of variety in your outfits...I feel like everything would look repetitive by the end of the month but your pairings don't look repetitive at all! My favorite is day 27, I adore the pop of coral!

  3. I was expecting the least amount of help from online. However, the designer work was fantastic with me! They emailed me to assure they received the correct measurements.
