Textbooks Of My Life

I’m frequently reminiscing, not because I’m not satisfied with my current life but because I have so many great memories to look back on. My thoughts as of late have been on college and how much I miss it. I recently went to visit my little sister who is in her first semester of college and it reminded me of all the trials, successes, and gratifying times I had while attending Dixie State College in St. George, UT. College could be considered the prime of my life thus far. I haven’t ever felt so “me” in my life. Experiencing living on my own, managing money, cooking (more like burning) my own food, and constantly interacting with new people was truly an adventure I hope everyone has the opportunity to experience. There’s nothing like being able to create your own reality.

While college was a time of bliss it also had many challenges that came along with it, including money. College is extremely expensive and it’s important to make the most of the money you put into college to avoid future debt following obtaining your degree. I was able to graduate, debt free, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations and I know the money I was able to save on textbooks through throughout my 4 years at college made a HUGE effect on me being able to achieve that goal. offers you textbooks online at a discounted price (a huge 40-90% off the college bookstore prices!), free shipping, and they now offer flexible textbook rentals, with proceeds of each textbook rented going towards Operation Smile! Their new program Rent Back allows you to rent your own college textbooks online, giving you way more money than what you’d receive just doing the buyback option each college offers at the end of the semester! (I remember always getting back like $10…. Lame!) Proceeds will go to help fund a cleft lip surgery, allowing Operation Smile to change the life of a child forever.  To learn more about Operation Smile, click HERE! Feel free to watch the video listed at the bottom of this post, It'll give you some more information on CampusBookRentals and how they can hook you up with a killer deal!!

College honestly was the best time of my life and I can't explain to you how important it is to be smart with your money and make the most out of what you have while you are in school! Take advantage of every deal you can, I promise it'll pay off in the end! XO

Keep Calm & Scary On

I can’t seem to have enough Halloween decorations for our apartment. I love making our apartment look festive, no matter the holiday! Home Décor to me needs to have character and personality. I enjoy doing DIY projects and finding unique décor pieces at the local thrift store. I’ve compiled some easy, Halloween decoration projects that can quickly change the feeling of your living space to a spooky one!
Congratulations to @hey_its_leila who won the White Rabbit Etsy Shop Giveaway on Instagram! See the "Current Giveaway" section on the right sidebar for more giveaways currently going on!

It is important to remember with holiday decorating to stay on budget. It is easy with all of the hundreds of stores carrying Halloween decorations to see something adorable and buy it on impulse. Try to pick a few items you are searching for or a dollar amount you want to stay under and don’t veer from that. To make my money go farther, I browse the local dollar/thrift stores for cute, inexpensive décor that should last for a few years.  This “Stay Scary” Headstone and pumpkins are some of the items I snagged from Dollar Tree. I chose to paint two of the pumpkins, one black and one gold. (It adds more definition and gives the pumpkins a more “chic” feel!)  This pumpkin pail was cute before, but it’s adorable now that it’s covered in Glitter! You can easily use craft store glitter and glue to transform any ordinary bucket into a sparkly eye-catching decoration.

This ghost plate I found at the local thrift store, for a mere .50 Cents! Printables are also a great way to add some personality to your home. I’ve included some of the printables I have used around my home this year! They’re all so cute so feel free to use them all.

Check out my Holiday Pinterest Board HERE to see some more great Halloween Décor ideas!

Fall is here... I'm loving every minute of it. I forgot how much I appreciate Utah and the fact that we really do have 4 DISTINCT seasons. Fall here is gorgeous, it never disappoints (as you can see in the background)! This outfit is one of my favorites, mainly because I love this oversized sweater ( another thrift find), my jewelry ( see below) and these AMAZING leggings from Walmart ( trust me, best $11 purchase I've made all season, they come in 10+ different colors and they're super comfy!)

This Jewelry is from LYDdesigns, and it is quite honestly the most creative jewelry pieces I have ever seen. Lydia, the shop owner makes all of these jewelry pieces from clay and morphs them into these amazing rings and necklaces! This is truly a jewelry piece that has quality and is something so creative you're not likely to find many others around! I love finding pieces that have a style of their own and I seriously freaked when I saw this squirrel ring. As of late..... I have a squirrel obsession. I think they are the cutest freaking animals and if I could have one as a pet, I'd do it! I bought a bunch of house decor recently just because it was "squirrel" related. Yeah, it's getting bad but really.... do you see my squirrel ring? You can't tell me this isn't the most adorable thing you've ever seen! I love all of the intricate detail and this is absolutely a perfect ring for fall! The acorn necklace literally goes with everything in my closet so I've been wearing it non-stop since I got it!

LYDdesigns is giving away one clay ring to a reader of All Things Unpredictable & Chic! You will be able to choose your ring size and pick the animal of choice from the selection available in the LYDdesigns Etsy Shop! I promise, this is such a unique ring and it will be something you will get TONS of compliments on, trust me! I love my jewelry from LYDdesigns and I know you will to! See below to enter the giveaway and snatch up one of these amazing rings for yourself! Giveaway goes until Friday, October 25th at Midnight and is open to all US Residents!
