I love to go above and beyond when it comes to the holidays. I enjoy being original and creating my own style items when I get the chance! I couldn’t resist doing the DIY American Flag Tee project that I found via Almost EndearingI loved doing this DIY project. It was so fun and extremely easy!

Make your own DIY American Flag Tee by following these steps:

Buy a white shirt from the thrift store or use an old one that you never wear

Purchase red and blue fabric paint via Michaels ($1.88 per bottle).
I recommend buying the fabric paint that has a little nozzle
(see photo), it allows for you to be more detailed when you are creating the stripes and stars on the shirt!
Use tape/painter’s tape and place on shirt to make the stripes section and stars section on the shirt.
Print out “star” clip art from the internet, place on the shirt and tape in order for them to stay. Use the nozzled fabric paint to trace around the clip art. Remove star cut-outs when finished.
Start painting! You don’t necessarily have to fill in the stripes or blue section of the flag completely, it looks a little more edgy if you leave some empty spaces!
Let the shirt dry flat for approximately 4 hours. Do not wash for 72 hours.
Feel free to be creative! There's no right or wrong way to do this! As you can see I cut the sleeves off the 3/4 sleeve white shirt I had to make this look more appropriate for summer.

Now go show your American pride and look amazing while doing it!

Feeling Pretty.

There’s just something about getting your photo taken professionally…..

Like every girl, I have my insecurities, things I’d like to change about my appearance. I’m happy Christine of Christine Barlow Photography zeroed in on my good features and helped bring out the beauty in these photographs! I couldn’t be more happy about how they turned out so I chose to share a few with you!

WIW | Pattern Mixing + First Day of Summer!

Happy First Day of Summer! There’s something beautiful about the end of the work week. Summer isn’t the same when you’re working full-time! I miss those days of being a kid where I could play all day and didn’t have a care in the world. Looking forward to a weekend full of decorating our new apartment (more to come on that!), dying my hair, and hopefully a little shopping if I’m lucky!

The pattern mixing trend is one that’s here to stay and I finally have jumped on the bandwagon! It’s important with pattern mixing to stick with some of the same color hues in both of the patterns. I went for the striped and flower print mix! Let me know what you think!

WIW | Hawaiian Florals

Summer is in full swing! After a fun weekend filled with farmer’s markets, swimming, BBQs, car shows and art festivals… I was definitely didn’t want to go back to work this week! I like to keep my style simple yet creative during the summer and I love being able to throw on some statement pieces and head out to have fun in the sun! These leggings from Forever 21 are such a fun print and I had loved wearing them as of late! I paired them with a neon tee from Old Navy, neutral flats and a simple letterman bag…. Ended up being a perfect combo! I also had a pretty funny encounter with a bird this guy at the Farmer's Market has as a pet! It crawled up my arm and sang in my ear! See photos below for more. Congrats to Jody Nicole for winning a Turban Twist Headband from the LulaBelle & Co Giveaway! Stay tuned for more giveaways to come!

Neon Bright

I am definitely one of those people who dress according to their mood… and you can’t help but feel happy when you’re wearing bright hues! A bright colored outfit is an easy way to spice up your summer wardrobe and put a little boost in your step! I recently wore to a REAL Salt Lake soccer game and I loved mix-matching these colors together. It was a perfect outfit for a nice summer night watching some soccer! The featured neon J. Crew long shorts have become my go-to staple item for summer. They fit amazing and definitely make you look a few shades tanner, which is never a bad thing!

Reminder to enter the LulaBelle & Co giveaway for a Turban Twist Headband of your choice! See the link to enter, it’s so so easy! Good Luck!

DIY: Home T-Shirt

Seen the Home T’s going around lately? I’ve seen so many bloggers wearing them that I couldn’t help but look into it!  They have a GREAT website and I think it's a great idea, however with money needing to go towards other things, I couldn't afford the price currently! I decided instead to take this on as my latest DIY project. It actually was pretty easy, and the shirt cost me $7 Dollars total!
Here’s how to get the look!

You’ll Need:-A plain colored t-shirt
- White Fabric Paint

STEPS:-Google the outline of the state you live in.
-Save the picture and adjust to the size you want.
-In Microsoft Word, type the word “Home.” In whatever font you’d like.
- Cut out the outline of your state, and place it in the center of your T-Shirt
-Trace the outline with fabric paint (the kind I have has a small end, just like a pencil, which allows for great tracing!)
- Cut out the word “Home.” And place it in the center of your state. Trace the letters with your fabric paint
- Fill in your state with white fabric paint, allowing the paint to dry for 4 days after being completed.
Here’s the final product:

I was really happy with how my T-Shirt turned out and I’ve already gotten a lot of compliments on it! You’d have no idea that I made it myself! I have to admit, I was pretty impressed with myself for figuring out how to do this! See below for how I styled it! Also, be sure to enter the Goldsmith Co. Fresh-Water Pearl Necklace Giveaway that I'm currently hosting!! You have until Monday, June 10th to enter!
