Can you believe it's almost Easter??!! Time has seriously flown by. I love Easter, not only for how the holiday is centered on Christ and his life, but for all the fun family traditions I remember as a kid! If you're like me and are in need of some quick, easy Easter ideas check out some great ideas I've found while surfing the web!

( I laughed when I saw this, probably wouldn't do this myself, but for a young family with kids, this would be a great idea!!)

Tribal Fever

1 | 2 | 3 | 4

Tribal fever is in the air.
I am in love with this trend; it’s a perfect transition into the summer season
I don’t like to go too overboard with bold prints. I try to find ways to bring the whole outfit together, such as coordinating jewelry with specific colors in the print. I added a few girly pieces to the outfit, giving it some of my own personal style.

Wannabe Wednesday: Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence

Yes. This is a celebrity crush. I have grown to have an obsession with Jennifer Lawrence. She always looks amazing and she has a badass attitude. I’ve obviously never met her in real life but she seems very down to earth and comfortable in her own skin, which is something that I admire. I love her fashion sense. It’s very effortless, classy, and put together which is something I’m always striving for! Check out some more of my favorite fashion moments from Jennifer Lawrence.

Continuing my goal to read a new book every month, I decided to read Stephanie Meyer’s book The Host which premieres in theaters this month!
The Host is a story about an alien race called Souls, which take over the Earth and its people. The book focuses on one soul, and her struggle to overtake a human who refuses to cooperate.  The soul, named Wanderer is inserted into Melanie’s body and has high hopes of being able to access her memories and find out where her other human friends are hiding. However, when Wanderer is inserted, Melanie is partially conscious within the brain and bombards her with memories of the ones she loves most, Jared and her brother Jamie. Wanderer begins to develop an emotional attachment to these characters and is convinced by Melanie to go find them out in the western desert.

I really did enjoy this book. There were some parts that were a little slow and hard to follow along with, however the book was very suspenseful and gave an interesting outside perspective on the human race. Stephanie Meyer, known for writing the Twilight Series, did a great job of connecting you with the characters and leaving you wondering what’s going to happen next.
March 29th is the official release date for The Host and I can’t wait to see how they portray this on the big screen. Have a good recommendation for my next book read? Leave a comment and let me know!

Monochromatic Monday

Happy Monday! It is definitely already feeling like spring. I woke up to sunshine and green grass so can’t complain. I’ve been in a demin craze and couldn’t resist pairing denim on denim this past weekend. This denim vest is one of the items I picked up at Plato’s Closet in during their grab bag sale ( see post Galentines, Sunsets, and Grab Bags... Oh My!) It was originally a denim jacket but I just cut the sleeves off to have a more summery feel to it. Let me know what you think!

How To: Host a Bridal Shower

Can't believe it's already March! Definitely excited to see what this upcoming month brings. Wedding season is almost upon us but in Utah, it's ALWAYS wedding season! Weddings are a time of major planning, sticking to your budget, and experiencing a good amount of stress. As the bride-to-be, there’s a beauty of being thrown a bridal shower. First off, you don’t have to be the one to plan anything, and it gives you a great time to relax with friends and family and forget about all your wedding worries. In honor of the bridal shower I am attending tonight for my future cousin-in-law, I decided to dedicate this post to some creative bridal shower ideas and tips!

Picking a theme can often make the bridal shower easier to manage, since there are a million ideas to choose from across the internet. A “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” or “Vintage Garden Party” theme are just a few options! There are plenty of DIY ideas for both of these themes available on Pinterest. See Here and Here !

When planning the activity, theme, d├ęcor, keep the bride-to-be in mind. Try to make the event a reflection of her and her personality, not simply all of your favorite things. If the bride doesn’t want to be surprised, you can run the activities by her to see if she would like to make any changes or if she feels uncomfortable with anything you may have had in mind.

Fun bridal oriented treats can make for a fun addition to the party. I love this idea of decorating cookies and adding a little scandalous flair. Whether you’re a drinker or not; fun, flirty drinks are a must! We had sparkling cider and made our own non-alcoholic drink mixtures are my bridal shower and it was fun to make yummy concoctions together!

BE CREATIVEIncorporate an item or decoration that the bride-to-be can take home and keep as a keepsake. You could also give the bride-to-be things to wear such as a cute hat or banner that she can pass onto the next bride within your friend group. Be sure to take lots of pictures to document the event!

At my own bridal shower, we had plenty of games, both sexual and non-sexual to play! It was such a good way to break the ice and to include and introduce friends I had from multiple friends group. Ask the groom questions about his bride and see if she and the other guests can guess his answers. The ideas for sexual games are endless, check out this site for a bunch of ideas!

I've even included a few pics from my own bridal shower!

Bridal Showers are a great time to relax, laugh and get to know the bride-to-be better! As long as the bride has her best friends there who she knows support her, she's bound to love the party, no matter what you end up planning!
